Power plant uses chemical energy which will be converted into thermal energy by combustion in Boiler. Thermal energy is converted to kinetic energy in which steams will flow to the turbine. Kinetic energy converted to mechanical energy by the steam produced to spin the turbine of the generator. Generator converts mechanical energy to electrical energy by spinning the magnet which results the creation of electricity.

Potential Energy (chemical energy) → thermal energy →  Kinetic Energy  → mechanical energy → electrical energy
