Which will accelerate more when the same unbalanced force is applied: pencil or cabinet?

 

In accordance to the second law of motion, the one which will accelarate the most would be the PENCIL

The second law states that the acceleration of an object depends upon two variables

- the net force acting upon the object and the mass of the object.

Since the net force of the two object are the same, the one which will determine the accelaration is the mass of the object.

As the mass of an object is increased, the acceleration of the object is decreased. Since cabinet has greater mass than the pencil its accelaration is more slower than that of the pencils

Hence the pencil has more accelaration.
